Job Title: Senior Media Planner

Location: Lagos

  • The candidate will be required to identify and reach target audiences, as well as evaluate campaign success.
  • To succeed in this role, you should be a skilled communicator and decision-maker who can collaborate well with various teams. Knowledge of market research, good understanding, and usage of media analytic tools, and a willingness to follow media trends are essential.
  • Your goal will be to optimize media marketing campaigns to increase brand awareness and help achieve business goals.

Job Description

  • Undertake, collate and analyze market data using specialist industry tools and resources
  • Identify target audiences and understand their behavior and habits
  • Determine the best media outlet mix for our campaigns
  • Optimize ad campaigns according to geographic exposure, frequency, periods and more
  • Allocate budgets and monitor costs
  • Evaluate the success of media strategies and campaigns
  • Work with the client and the account team to understand the client’s business objectives and advertising strategy
  • Liaise with the creative agency team, client and consumers to develop media strategies and campaigns
  • Work on several projects at the same time, often for different clients.
  • Undertake research
  • Work with colleagues, other departments and media buyers either in-house or in a specialist agency
  • Make and maintain good contacts with media owners, manage client relationships to build respect, and gain trust in your judgment.
  • Proofread advertisement content before release and maintain detailed records


  • Proven experience as a Media Planner/Buyer
  • Broad knowledge of media channels
  • Proven experience as Media Planner/Buyer or similar role in a  media Agency; Familiarity with media-buying, planning, and research
  • Familiarity with campaign evaluation metrics and media buying
  • Working knowledge of analytics tools (e.g. GfK MRI, MOAT, Nielsen IMS, comScore, Bionic)
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • An analytical mind with an aptitude for statistics and math
  • Strong decision-making skills
  • Interest in following advertising and media trends
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Attention to detail
  • Critical thinking skills


  • Graduate degree from a leading institution with 3 – 6 years of experience with a Media Planning/Buying Agency
  • Outstanding  communication, negotiations, and analytical skills
  • Proven success in managing complex and large-scale media budgets locally and Internationally in a senior position
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Professional member of NIPR/APCON/MIPAN
  • PMP certification is also a plus
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
